The Theory of Love and Loss

The first time Noah loses his wife, Ellie, it’s to a freak accident that leaves her in an irreversible coma.

The second time he loses her, it’s when she is unwittingly wiped from existence.

He will not lose her a third time.

Noah Taylor, a university science professor and accidental time-traveller, swore off using his unusual gift years before, when it led to the tragic death of his mother. But unable to think of a world without his wife, the only person to show he was deserving of happiness, he breaks his life-long vow.

Noah works at repairing the losses in his life, even managing to resurrect his long-dead mother. For a moment, it appears as though he has everything he’s ever wanted.

But every decision he makes impacts both the past and the present. It’s not long before Noah's world comes crashing down and he’s faced with a heart-breaking choice:

He can save either the love of his life and reason for living, or, he can save his beloved mother whose death he has never got over, a death that he caused.

He cannot save both.

THE THEORY OF LOVE AND LOSS explores death, the need to deal with grief, and the consequences of playing ‘God’. And although Noah is forced to make a heart-breaking decision, ultimately, it’s a story about love and the choices we have to make.
